“The artwork, Life Bearer, is an expression of my own inner journey, into and through the birthing process. In this work I have attempted to capture the movement of life force through my body and soul, and my relationship and connection with the natural world. It seeks to convey my journey, through a world of paradox and into love. To a place that I discovered at my core, where fragility and strength stand side by side, where life and death rest in the hand of each other, and where power and gentleness intermingle. I hoped to capture the purity of love and respect that I felt for life, myself, my child and the people around me.”
