This poster is ideally suited to antenatal classes. Photographs clearly demonstrate correct positioning on the BirthRite Birthing Seat and the opportunities it presents for active involvement of the partner. Prospective parents can see at a glance how reassuring and calming their working environment will be.

Prominently displayed on a wall of the birthing suite, it provides reinforcement to the woman of the dignified and empowering nature of upright birthing, and encourages her to assert herself in questioning routine direction to the obstetric bed.

As well, the poster is ideally suited to education of midwifery students and as a reference for midwives new to upright birthing. Explanatory text gives specific advice on positioning the woman on the Birthing Seat, along with a form of words that the midwife can use to encourage relaxation in the labouring woman.
